Daytime Blues Blackness all around you, the darkest time of night Just before the dawning, welcomes you with light Way into the East, a paleness starting there Liquid is the movement, of light into the air Darkness slowly waning, shapes can now appear Night is curling up to sleep, Dawn is creeping near The goddess blushes gently, lets the pink creep in First faint trace of Blue, now showing on her skin Colours endless colours, she’s showing her full range The Blue is quickly growing to take on centre stage Pale as yet insipid, spreading through the sky Overcoming darkness, gladdening your eye Shades are changing slowly, because she has all day To show us all the wonders of the Blues in her array Midday sun is overhead, few shadows on the ground Blue is deep, encompassing, wrapping all around Sun is sinking rapidly, Blue puts up a fight Changing as it battles with the blackness of the night Swinging through the change in ever darkening tones Fade into the darkness, to leave you there alone One thing that will never change, not for me or you The Comfort and Security of the Daytime Blues Live It |

longte: I enjoyed this poem and agree there is nothing like a beautiful, blue sky! Don't mind a few white clouds drifting by though! Betty Lou Betty Lou Hebert |
