Reflections

Pale blossoms droop their fragile heads
And blink their dew-jeweled eyes.
Upon the water's placid face.
Their shadowed beauty lies.
Bright butterflies around them flit
And frolic in the sun,
But they must gaze into the lake,
Until their life is done.
How brief their bloom and sad to think
That they have never known,
The wonders of the world around,
Or faces, but their own!

Dear Betty Lou

I have 'reflected' on this poem and for some reason I have felt a touch of sadness.  Maybe because.....

How brief their bloom and sad to think
That they have never known,
The wonders of the world around,
Or faces, but their own!

A touching poem indeed!!!

Love Isobel xo
