Exhilaration
sits proudly
a peacock preening.

Earth unleashes smells:
leaf moulds, flower blooms,
such dizzying scents.

Aging trees below
a network of
shadows on deep blue.

Reflections on water
images etched in fine swirls
circle upon circle
shimmer, vanish, shimmer, gone.

The picture is beautiful, but hardly needed.  Your descriptive phrases painted the scene clearly.  Joyce

Thanks, all. When I'm in mental block, I like to take out my scenic photos for 'inspiration'. Hope you don't mind my displaying them here. Gives me great pleasure when others admire my 'photographic' skills (amateurish really).

The photos with your poems are just lovely. I really enjoy the format of this piece, and also, of course, the beauty that it portrays!
