THE FOREST AND THE WIND

When I was young I listened, to the music nature sang
Sounds of silence whispering, from when the world began
Soft and gentle were the songs, remembered from the past
In the beauty of a lightning storm, I heard the trumpets blast

I felt the happiness and joy that only nature brings
Felt the welling up inside, as I heard the birdies sing
The trees were my companions, in those long gone days
Soft clouds upon a mountain top,,, a valley,,, mist and haze

The water in the giggling stream was cool and crystal clear
Butterflies were rainbows, flitting through the air
A maze of wildflowers blooming, in a meadow way up high
An eagle,,,, solitary,,, alone.... majestic in the sky

Now I walk back through the woods to hear the lovely song
Instead I hear her moaning "Please leave me alone"
"You silly greedy fools....You're killing me you know"
"You're tearing me apart, now you’ll see me go"
"Your Want and your Pollution... Make me sing this way"
" It should Never be like this.... That’s all I have to say"

So I gaze into the Giggling brook... Now its full of scum
Remember with a teary eye... the song when I was young
Too Sad what we do

Live It

longte:  So sad that this is happening in many places around the world.  I am so lucky to be living in country that is still beautiful and in some places, even pristine!

All over the earth, there are places where man-un-kind has spewed his filth. Yet, there are also a handful of places that have begun to renew themselves, after much hard work from fearless environmental warriors and genuinely concerned humans.
