Celtic Harp

I don't remember whence I came.
I know I bear a noble name.
The years pass quickly now, so I,
Have lost my past as time went by.

From tribe to tribe, from clan to clan
And equally, from man to man,
I've been passed down from land to land.
I've many songs at my command!
My voice has echoed cross each age.
Through times of peace and wars we wage.
I've been respected, felt the touch
Of some I've cared for very much.

My songs have raised both hopes and fears.
Fostered smiles and sometimes tears.
No matter what the tune I sing,
Most people find me lingering
Within their mind, if not their heart
Where all true feelings really start.
As long as I can sing I will,
Until old age will strike me still!

I like this past part. Its very sentimental.

Death is not extinguishing the light;
it is putting out the lamp
because the dawn has come.

as usual, unmatched in rhythm and rhyme. Perfection as it rolls off the tongue. One can hear the faint echo of the notes flitting through the air!

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

I had to add something. This poem is very St. Paddy Day appropriate. I enjoyed it the second time around.

For those of you who want to get into the St. Paddy's day spirit now, there's an Internet radio site that broadcasts live from Ireland: http://www.liveireland.com/live.shtml
