My day started with you,
The darkest night would tear apart.
Little did I know,
That day you would go.
I held you in my arms,
Angel of my heart.

Your cheeks grew cold and pale,
Even though you didn't depart.
Your skin a bluish-white,
Day turned into night.
I held you in my arms,
Angel of my heart.

Even though its impossible,
I want a fresh start.
I want you forever,
Letting go never,
Hold you in my arms,
Angel of my Heart.

Death is not extinguishing the light;
it is putting out the lamp
because the dawn has come.

Very sad. I hope it is only an inspired poem and not a true happening.  Love, Joyce

Nodding with Joyce & Betty Lou. Hope this is just a fantasy. Well done. Chris

Thank you for the reviews.

Joyce-Trillium-Nightshade: While this is mostly fantasy, the feelings expressed here are a result of something that had happened to me.

very sad i agree with the rest, something that had happened and hoping that you are in a happier place now. i too have been here and finally can say that there are new beginnings.

I have been away for quite some time and I see that in my absence, a new and talented face has appeared. Lovely sentiment. I like the way this poem flowed. looking forward to more.

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost
