Cherished Valentines

It has been many year since I
Was sent a valentine
But I've a box of some I saved
From when true love was mine.
Here is one frilled with lace that has
Red hearts around my name
And one with Cupid and his bow
Signed by the very same.

The oldest ones were sweetly sent
To "My Beloved Sweetheart"
And others read "My Darling Wife;
Each one a piece of art.
Even the latest ones are old
And creased from so much wear;
The loving words a little blurred
From one small unchecked tear.
