Feast thine eyes now upon this gentle night, as stars wink in wordless white serenades, and caress thy sight in sweet harmony, hear the night wind whisper in softest tone, the faintest echo of my fervent prayer, to be as one with thee in heaven’s bliss, touch the velvet moss with thy slender hands, as evening’s moist dew bathes thy tender skin, so I too will enfold thee tenderly, taste deeply then this fruitful light repast, offered thee with such humble gratitude, from lips that tremble with great need for thee, this humble life I offer now to thee, has no such gainful purpose but to serve, the fairest mistress of his true desire. the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost |

What a lovely love poem to find in the midst of all this terror. Thanks for the respite. Joyce |
