BLACK TUESDAY is before us, Terror rains from the skies Destroying our security, Raw Death before our eyes. Hijacked planes hit targets, Killing innocent folk, Fear spreads out amoung us, From its' vortex out like spokes. Car bombs work their evil, Wreaking havoc as they blow, Federal buildings shudder, Are they the next, who knows? An enemy has desecrated, Our fortress of defense, Pentagon now in rubble, Satisfying terrorist sense. America is under fire, By a heartless enemy, But we will never surrender To such Terrorist tyranny. God help us to survive, Help us to be brave, Help us thwart this Evil, This Great Nation, Lord do save. 9-11-2001 PRAY FOR OUR NATION! |

Dennis, As I sit here all alone, I am numb. I have so many questions, but the news is not giving me the answers I need. My father won't discuss it with me even if he was here. I need answers that no one can probably give me. I need to know if I am going to be safe tonight in my bed. I need to know if my friends and I are going to grow old together, or will one of them be called to fight for our great country and be lost to us all? *hugs* my friend, I know I sure could use one tonight. |

Dear Dennis, it seems the whole world was affected by the totally senseless destruction of so many lifes- in such a cold and calculating way. Our hearts go out to all the suffering survivors, and prayers that somehow some may be brought out of the rubble alive. Thanks for this very articulate, and timely poem, David Every Day's a Blessing |

Thanks for your straightforward poem. I believe America will join together as one to avenge our brothers and sisters. Our freedoms have been tarnished. Our outrage has flared. I pray our leaders will find the least destructive, yet effective way to proceed. Melton |

This is striking, the images well-capture the feelings that were felt and still being felt, I don’t see how the pain will ever ease…it is still too much to really comprehend in a certain way. Wordancer, the poet who writes to the beat of a different drummer. |
