The Coffee House There is a coffee house just down the street from mine Where coffee’s still a brewin’ mostly all the time. Oc-ca-sion-al-ly homesick will drop in for a spell And there share some stories. Oh, the stories they do tell! Woman often meet there to talk and share some brunch And men come there too -- for women. (That’s my hunch!) There is a coffee house just down the street from mine Where the soupe du jour’s to die for -- Pastries, Oh! Divine! A wayward poet often stops by to recite And all the patrons smile with responses of delight. Frequently some visit to unload and to unwind At such a lovely place where ALL can speak their mind. There is a coffee house just down the street from mine Where sometimes windows open just to see who’s there on line. Smiles, Lighthouse Bob [This message has been edited by Lighthousebob (11-20-2004 12:50 AM).] |

Joyce, Thank you for your kind Welcome Back. My time away has been longer than you probably can imagine, but I really (really) had some very strong convictions about being on the computer so long with the condition of my eyes deteriorating, but things are much better now. Thanks again and God bless. -Bob |

MiCheLLe, Smiles. Yes, it certainly is a most "quaint little haven" where many of my "poetic muses" were certainly inspired and this poem was of no exception. Though there is a Coffee Shop down the street a ways that also inspired this poem, what inspired this poem the most was you and the others here at the "Corner Pub." I'm not sure if you caught the last line or if it even makes any sense, but... "Where sometimes windows open just to see who’s there on line" ...means that I am referring to some place that is in cyberspace and that special place is here. God bless and thank you for your sweet sweet reply. -Bob |

Ooohhh I want to go there! *smiles wistfully* It sounds so very lovely And I'm glad you're back as well, even if I don't reply as often as I read the poetry here. *hugs* |
