When the night stretched out in black horizon, and the stars had all been painted to match, I accepted the inevitable but still had the moon. I would travel my moonlit path without stars, destiny safely illuminating my familiar road. Until one day a shadow fell across my pathway, reaching through dull yellow light for my hand. The path was long and lonely — too long, alone. Mystery and adventure, a crossroad I could share. Beckoning me warmly, lovingly— I followed. Skipping the trail in sweet light steps I laughed, Loving the way you switched each star back on, ecstatic as the inky night turned sapphire blue. I flew holding tightly as we soared upon dreams Chasing loneliness away from the long dark night. I will always love the way you held me then, the way you painted the sky brightly again. Travelling with you lifted up my weary heart, gave me back vitality and hope and love. A place I long to travel — if only in my dreams |
