I wander down the sidewalk with Jim and Heidi My new literary friends Who have come to town For reasons that have not been fully explained We find ourselves in a store Transplanting the third world into the first In the rear of the store Heidi found two red plastic eggs Nestled in a wicker basket She presents half of the pair to me And proclaims it to be The Love Egg In doing so, Heidi has infused it with The luck that I need To finally fall into someone’s arms Like a fly into a Venus flytrap Vote Kerry/Edwards |
