Come under my leaves and let me shade you Plant yourself next to my heart For like the sun I cannot touch you I would burn while giving you life And when I called out your name There was no one who really heard me And I waited but you never came In my tears I nearly drowned You can take a leaf and put in your hair Any garlands that I could give you, And any fruits for you I bear. If only I could speak and tell you I grow from tears that I shed, Even if you think I am dead. |
