I see her tonight in her most magnificent mood,

colours so fresh and vivid, as if still undried.

The majestic night orb casts a glow of mystery.

Tiny footlights enhance her drama from below,

where the village hides behind the stark scenery.

Centre stage is held by the charismatic moon,

with piercing white light and smoked-silver aura.

Cloud shadows move in waves across her face,

like swirling silhouettes of dancers clad in black,

waltzing gracefully to the soft lullaby of night

She has set her stage boldly in a rich navy backdrop,

lit from above and below with a subtle ghostly glow.

A strange melting pot of light unveils her dark beauty,

in ribbons of salmon and pale mustard lavishly spread,

and a wide boasting of tie-dyed sky in damson and ruby.

Only in the pre-dawn hours of a warm July night,

can we be witness to this exclusive premier show.

The sky reveals her passion for drama and dance,

to a hushed audience of trees and wakeful beasts,

bowing low to her last curtain call just before dawn.

You are all so Kind, thank you. I write the sky poems for a collection and am always delighted when people enjoy the colour and drama i am trying to paint.
