Birthday Blues

When I was a child my birthdays came
As seldom near as never.
While now it seems they've speeded up;
Are coming at me ever.

I just get cozy with my age
And each new ache and pain;
Familiar with each droop and sag.
My birthday comes again.

I'm sorry to be such a jerk.
I really need your shoulder.
I'm bummed each Seventh of July
Will find me one year older.

I had to come back on this one---
I was feeling this way last week so I told my freind that she had to be patient with me because a lot of my parts have already left for heaven and I was working with a skeleton crew.
