Walking Back

~*Marge Tindal*~

Walking back to where I've been
streets of loving you again
Can't get past the memory
that keeps coming back to me

You're a love I can't forget
leaving me with no regret
Walking through old times of you
not believing that we're through

Hoping that it doesn't show
I've got a long way to go
Just one turn away from you
should not be so hard to do

In the end I guess you knew
I'd come walking back to you

I hear you, Marge....why is love so complicated?   Oh, well!!!

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

Thank you always for the read and reply~

*Shucks, I don't know ... I just write 'em ~

I don't set out to purposely pen in any strict poetic form ...
UNLESS, I'm in Nan's Poetry Workshop~
And she cracks a mean poetic whip ! !

I usually just let the words drop to the page~
Works for me~

Marge:  I suppose most of us have "walked" this road at least once in our life. I really liked the poem.

Love it. It's so true. Why are some loves so much harder to get over than others? But you are absolutely right about it making great fodder for poetry. The one I never completely got over has been inspiring me to write for longer now than I care to remember. (because if I tell you how long, I'd be embarrassed!!!!)

Really enjoyed this

Marge...

This is truly delightful. I think everyone has felt this way. There is always the one you can never get out of your heart...the one you always come back for.....You expressed this beautifully.

I'm considering a walk backwards in time as I write this, and though there never was anything tangible in the past, maybe only in my imagination, an opportunity may soon present itself to ignite an old spark of interest. Time will tell. Maybe a golden opportunity to pen a new poem at least.

We should all just have ourselves cloned, under the itention of decomplicating love.

Wonderful write Marge. Once more, you've hit the nail on the head, in a tremendously romantic way.

Dear Marge

'This Road' is well travelled and I love your sense of humour about why is love so complicated......."Cause it writes a LOT of poetry!"

I liked this poem of yours!

Love Verbena xo
