The river is swollen and angry Hurling , swirling and spitting Tossing up yellow edged curls Like frothy heads of vintage ale. Speed-driven, it bullies the banks. Kicking out chunks of soft earth churning it liquidly in motion I lean over the sodden wood bridge Listening to the angry river voice Silenced in awe of this turmoil Captivated in it’s spittle blast As I watch nature declare war Armed with the greatest power I am strangely at peace within Stilled and calmed in my faith. |

Dear June: The power of nature is awesome! We have two creeks on our property and in the spring when the snow melts, they both roar their way through the land. Like you, we watch from the bridge and don't go near the banks. Good poem! Love Betty Lou Betty Lou Hebert |

Dear June, Wonderful poem! Reminds me of times during my life where I felt over-whelmed by the heaviness of it all. A sense of calm would come over me, knowing those turbulant times were passing phases. Patricia 'When you find a dream within your heart, don't ever let it go. |

I like the fact that your writing is so visual - this is a great example of that..to me. |
