Mate of The Soul We’ve never met and yet, I know your heart, the length, the depth and the heighth of it. For, I know that you exist as sure as I taste my own breath. You are the mate my soul has reached for in search of beautiful bond in all it’s strong fragility. You are my déjà vu of one heart and spirit falling into the sky. We are earth and universe of bodies bound in wake soaring as eagles exhaled through the wind’s fingers. In mesh I wear your flesh of kismet gown profound, a familiar unknown through the mapping of your soul. You write of simplicities and intricacies in perfect rhyme with mine spreading it’s spill of quill upon skin pages; And I shall drink of your ink in cadence of friend and kindred into a sigh’s vastness of love’s meter and flow. Memories crash like waves, their shores awash over contours effervescence echoed synchronicity woven in the tapestry of us. You are my cup of life in which I sip of a hundred vows before where you and I sailed through passion overfloweth into the cream of dreams come true. Though grains of sand may trickle time our tide is fated, destined. Let the stars stand as witness we are genesis of touch let my goddess fill your air with supple so you shall drown in my eyes in the soft of my sea we are all-encompassing, infinite. Reason never questions why and karma never explains, for, this is God’s plan it’s not in our hands. By Melissa Long-Monette True love knows not of race or time, a choice it is of fate divine. Love is poetry of the heart, a destined, sacred work of art. *A re-write of an oldie... [This message has been edited by Sunshine (07-19-2004 11:30 AM).] |

I knew someone like that once... It seems we've got to wait for another life to meet again though. Beautiful poem and images. BWA |

Thank you to all who replied....it always mean a lot to have your support. This is probably one of my favourite 'soulmate' poems. And of course, thank you to Karilea for editing my poem and for the bonus reply Melissa~ Intellectually I know that Canada is no better than any other country. Emotionally I KNOW that Canada is the best country in the world! |

Melissa, Well it has been a long time since I've gotten to fawn all over your writing. How I missed it. Fabulous dear girl. When he shows up I hope you introduce me! If no one else will tell you, I will: You don't write enough. If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |
