With rubber gloves I went to fight
the battle of the shed
Armed with a brush andshovel
I approached with a terrible dread

I knew my foe had the upper hand
on familiar territory they could fight
I was afraid they might ambush me
so I crept in during the night

I opened the door and swung my torch
a beam of light swept the floor
and as I did, I faced my fear
as a mouse scuttled across the floor

I screamed in fright and bumped my head
as I climbed upon an old wooden shelf
Came face to face with a fat spider
and almost wet my poor self

Eye to eye with enemies surrounding
I took aim with my weapon and Zap!
the broom shot forward and hit the mouse
and he bounced up onto my lap

I hit my head on the top of the shelf
Knocking down a can of paint
It drowned the spider and the mouse
and I crashed to the ground in a faint.

June,

What a brave woman you are! Lol! I would have fainted long before then.

I  loved this poem!

What is it about a poor little mouse that drives us to distraction?  Poor mouse, poor you.  Keep the humor coming.  Love, Joyce
