For His Love They all ask me... "what ya still doin with that man, girl?" Friends, neighbors, family and all askin, "what you be doin with him, girlfriend?" "He treats you bad, he’s never around His ways just makes you cry. He runs around with his buddies drinkin and chasin, don’t you know it’s all lies?" They all be askin, "what you doing with that man?" Well they don’t get no love just don’t know ‘bout gettin his love. When he holds me, Oh God! Holds me, holds me! There just ain’t nothin else, nothin at all when he’s lovin me, when he’s lovin me. There just ain’t nothin else at all! None of you understand, no matter what I say, "My god, my man He gives his love to me!" "What wouldn’t you do for love? Walk the ends of the earth? Be spat upon, be ridiculed, mistreated, be hurt...oh so very hurt. Would you go to jail, pay the bail would you give your life...for love? What wouldn’t you do for love?" "Doesn’t he love me that very much? Dyin up there on that Roman cross? That’s what I’m doin in his church that’s what I’m doin on my knees. Does that answer the question? Explain my direction? I love him, ‘cause he first loved me! He loves me enough to give his life! Can I give him back any less? any more? Ask me again and again! Don’t you understand? He loves you the same as he loves me!" This poem reminds me of a song from the rock opera "Jesus christ super star" called "I don't know how to love him".Remember both Mary Mandeline and Judas sang it.Good write. paladin |

We often spend so much time searching for someone to love us that we neglect the one who's proven his love beyond question. This is great!  |
