She is just a little bud,
On this, our family tree.
She is growing into a blossom
A lovely flower to be.
The branch she is attached to,
Is sturdy, straight and strong.
May her beauty only increase
And her happy life be long.

Doe she know how much we love her,
How we praise the God above;
For sending us this bundle
Of innocence and love?
She's so lately come from Heaven.
Did she see our loved ones there?
Did they have a say in choosing
This child beyond compare?

I have searched her features often
For a face I used to know;
Just looking for a message,
Carried to us here below.
I only wish that she could speak,
Such secrets she could tell.
But Heaven keeps its mystery,
As I'm sure is just as well.

Much too soon she'll be absorbing
Some of our worldly way,
As her memories of Heaven fade;
For they are not meant to stay.
To know her is to love her
And we are all beguiled.
There is one thing that's for certain,
She is truly Heaven's child.

Children are truly blessings from God. If only we could keep them as innocent of the harsh things in life as they day they are born. Great write, Joyce.

Such a lovely compliment for such a lovely gift from heaven. Congratulations! (We have a new granddaughter as well- 6 weeks old- Chloe madison)

I especially like your concept that memories of heaven must fade. That’s beautiful.
