Now Hear This!
Mrs. Hummingbird went on vacation.
She was filled with hope and elation
At seeing her relatives and her friends,
The neighborhood and its newest trends.
She packed a suitcase and carry on bag.
Mr. Hummingbird started to drag
Along golf clubs and a cooler for beer
But changed his mind; coulda been fear.
Mrs. Hummingbird gave him a look
It wasn’t one that he mistook.
Never mess with the hummingbird gaze,
The evil eye or the eyelid raise.
Say “yes dear", don’t mess around.
This rule applies to all species in town.
