Meeting on Marie Creek A moose was in our creek today. I watched him as he walked away, But there had been a moment we Had eyed each other, warily. He turned and gave his head a toss To let me know he was the boss And I concur! I wouldn't dare To argue with his presence there. He splashed along to find the pond, Where lilies grow, of which he's fond! I've seen him there before, but he, Had never caught a glimpse of me, Because I hid behind some trees. He stood in water to his knees And tore up plants and roots to eat. He seemed to think they were a treat. He is a big, ungainly beast, Who comes to our place for a feast And then he disappears awhile. His visits always make me smile! Betty Lou Hebert |

Dear Joyce: We don't see them often, but when we do, the moose do command attention! Thanks. Love Betty Lou Betty Lou Hebert |

Sue: I know have you many wonderful animals in Australia and moose are not one of them! I don't think they are found much farther south than here, in the States. Many in Canada and Alaska though. Love Betty Lou Betty Lou Hebert |

This poem makes me smile. You are such a gifted artist. When Abishag, our wild rabbit made bodyprints in the show, I thought they were perhaps moose tracks. This is why I don't write a lot about nature but enjoy what you have to say. xoxox Barb |

Dear Barb: Thanks for your comments and maybe a bunny's "body prints" would be like moose tracks, if it were a REALLY big one! Love Betty Lou Betty Lou Hebert |

Betty Lou, Pictures of nature so wonderfully painted fill my heart with memories so very fond. Thank you so much. If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |

Dear Betty Lou The first moose that I ever saw was when I was a child. It was a cartoon called, "Rocky and Bullwinkle". Rocky was a squirrel and Bullwinkle was the moose. As Sue has mentioned we do not get moose here. I like watching documentaries, so I have seen moose there. I loved your poem. You bring such joy to us all here in Corner Pub. God Bless You. Dear Isobel: I remember the cartoons about Bullwinkle. My kids used to watch them. A real live moose, is far more impressive! Thank you for your sweet words! Love Betty Lou Betty Lou Hebert |

Dear Betty Lou, I enjoyed your poem very much. It too, made me think of Bullwinkle. Even put a great big grin on my face. Love, Patricia |

Dear Patricia: I didn't have Bullwinkle in mind when I wrote this, but I can see why it recalls him to mind. Smiles are good! Betty Lou Hebert |
