In a dream she came to me, a maiden fair and true, she beckoned and pleed to thee, that I would never say adieu. I took her hand in mine, and swore my life to thee, that my life may be thine, was my heart's own decree. Her beauty was but an eclipse, masking the beauty of the moon, the red rose was shamed by her lips, as she sung her pleasant tune. The sparkling stars present, and sensational night skies, seemed so insignificant, to the light in her eyes. But soon darkness began to fade, as light began to dawn, and sure enough my oath betrayed, my lover's heart was gone. |
