The Long Winter

The day became weary
And sped out of sight.
It was gray and so dreary-
Void of sunlight.

Nighttime came early
Clad in white drifts
And the tease of the wind
Whistled in shifts.

Enough! Said we victims,
Cold and homebound
Where icicles hung
And temps had gone down.

Oh, glorious visions
Dance in our heads
While rainbows of tulips
Still lay in their beds.

Oh, lay thee down, winter-
Go swiftly away
And usher to minds
A springtime clothed day.

Where trumpets of daffodils
Spill by the streams
And verdant green landscapes
Are more than daydreams.

Barb:  I like this so much!  I think all of us who have been snow-bound for so many months are having these hallucinations of spring!

Barb

Is Betty Lou right?  Hallucinations of Spring?  Winter Madness?  I pray for you all, that Spring will show itself sooooooooon!

The poem is a delight.

Love Isobel

(smiles) I already am hallucinating of spring, though of course I do it twelve months a year, hehehe! (sigh) Spring is the happiest time of year as everything is reborn again and comes to life, yay, may the tulips sing and the robins dance, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Barbara, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
