WHEN JOY SIFTS THROUGH THE AIR The fringe of English daisies danced And susans winked their eye. They wore enchantment, Lacey flowers, And swayed beneath the sky. The golden grasp of daffodils Caught crowns of pastel yellow. Days were teased by summer warmth, Long and rich and mellow. And the essence of newborn life Could not be set aside. Dashing buds and blooming trees Reigned in season pride. Then gentle cloaks of showers Fell onto nature’s own. Where the kiss of joy sifts through the air, The kingdom, power, and throne.
