Hi everyone. This is quite different to my other poetry. I have a friend Janice Smith and she often tells me about her escapades when she goes fishing. Below is a true account of Janice as an angler. ‘SCHOOLS OUT’ Janice loves fishing, And the fish love her too. Not the fact that she doesn’t catch anything, It’s the scrapes she gets herself into. Cause fishing takes on a new meaning when Janice is around, Even the sinker acts as a missile when pulled to ground. So the fish are Janice’s audience...it keeps them amused, Making out above the water that the hook meant for them Is imbedded in her thumb and her ego bruised. Tailors biting...not just on the end of the line... Having latched onto the end of her finger, which made her whine. And I know it sounds fishy...but it’s true you see... Nearly knocking herself out on the pier and Getting stitches in her chin didn’t make her happy. Lucky for her though...all of this takes place close to shore, and Even when ‘SCHOOLS OUT’...fish come to see Redcliffes persistent angler...Janice...on the jetty. Isobel: Sounds like Janice needs some instruction in fishing! I never thought of it as being hazardous but I think it is for her! Cute poem. Love Betty Lou Betty Lou Hebert |

This is a cute poem. I'll bet the fish die laughing-all she has to do is scoop them up. Love, Barb |

Hi everyone Thanks for reading my poem. Janice won't get another hobby, that is why at the end of the poem, I said she was persistent. I had a good laugh Barb. You have such a great sense of humour. Did you all notice that reading the first letter (on the far left) on each line (vertically), spells JANICE SMITH ANGLER. Love Isobel |
