betty lou reminded me of this one with her poem about the rose. i cant remember if i posted it here or not so forgive me if i did. hugs june xxxxxxxxxx Virgin Rose In the shadow of an archway Stands a single blood red rose Startling in her beauty Wher smid the weeds she grows Her deep crimson petals Are cupping her velevet heart Protecting her delicate centre Like a priceless work of art Her head is held majestically Above thorns of deadly warning Awaiting the freshest tear of dew At the break of summer morning Lonely is this beauty Untouched by warming sun Holding back her charms Hidden from everyone Until her gentle prince happens to stop by And tenderly picks her from the dark To love until they die. |
