(Since Summer Mourned has been brought back to this page, I thought perhaps I could show you the tinkering I have been doing with it.I haven't changed but have added some verses.Tell me if you think they are up to par or if I should leave well enough alone. Thanks Joyce)

Cont'd

We'll seek the violets where they hide,
The daffodil's winter abide.
The tiny snowballs showing through
Are proof enough love can renew.

The bulbs we buried in the fall
Looked close to dead, beyond recall.
A perfect flower within each heart
Is struggling now, life to impart.

Triumphntly, one bright spring day
The blossoms as a love bouquet
Will cheer a winter near dried heart.
Just so, a true love can restart.

Dear Joyce; I can only echo June's praise and add my own "Bravo" to a very gifted poet! Hugs, Ellie

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

Thanks Ellie and Betty.  Wish there were a ruler we could measure our own poetry by.  But I use you dear friends for my ruler.  Love, Joyce

Dear Joyce,
I didn't read the other version, but this one is fine by me. It's very inspiration and uplifting like all of your work. I really enjoyed it.  It boosed me up from my winter doldrums.
Love, Barb
