Greedy Susie My dog and I are much alike, Can't get enough to eat And now when we look towards the floor, We cannot see our feet. I brought her home in August A svelte seventy pounds. She weighs in at a hundred now And growing out of bounds. I try to feed her carefully. She barks and snarls at me. Until I fill her dish again She will not let me be. The veterinary scolded. He had a lot to say. He's not the one to feel her rage When not getting her way. When I sit down to have a meal, She has to share each bite. You'd think I might get skinnier; For food I have to fight. Instead I fill my plate again, Trying to eat so fast That I get two bites to her one But that just doesn't last. I swear that dog has learned to count. She know when it's her turn And if I take more bites than she That doggie starts to burn. She barks and looks so vicious that I really have a fright. I eat a little slower and Make sure she gets her bite. By: Joyce 01/15/04 |

Joyce, This is absolutely adorable. It's good I'm not there with the two of you as I would be looking for my share too. I enjoy your work.Love, Barb |

Joyce: What a cute poem and one I can really relate to. We have a pudgy, chocolate Lab named Toby, who now weighs 107. We do have him trained to stay away from the table but as soon as we're through, he waits for me in the kitchen! Love Betty Lou Betty Lou Hebert |

I know. I've really spoiled her. I usually eat on a tray in front of the TV so I'm fair game. But she is so cute. Love, Joyce |

This is so cute, Joyce..Maybe a few times at "doggie weight watchers" will cure her?? Hugs, Ellie A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |

Joyce~ This one made me smile with a remember of when my children were small ... and their little Chihuahua would slip under the dining room table ... and ate the much despised veggies the children 'slipped' to him~ I did have to admonish them ... for that little rascal would NOT EAT THE BRUSSEL SPROUTS ! Sounds to me as though Susie has you 'well-trained'~ *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*When the heart grieves over what it has lost, |

Very cute, Joyce! Have you tried putting her outside, or confining her to another room while you eat? |
