Beneath a small tree clothed in ripe apples Almost hidden by long grass and dark shadow Is a tiny key, forgotten by time and faith A whisper of wind shifts the green in reveal Displaying an iridescent path through woods Along this pathway liesa magical kingdom Where dreams are forged on an anvil of hope Creatures, uncaged with wings unfettered Dance to sweet sounds in the memory grotto A place where childhood remembers magic Inter-locking with the aroma of innocence Like a heady blend of love and liberty A Burning incense of smouldering nostalgia In that golden moment, reach for your key And take that path to be adulthood free For the once the breeze in the grass is gone The memory key's metal turns liquid and runs |

It's nice to get in touch with that inner child, isn't it? Your work really brings that out. I really enjoyed this one... |

Oh, Wow! I love the enchanting imagery and the wonder of a childs heart so fully alive in this poem! My key is on a rope around my neck, where my skate key always is...though no one sees it here in my imagination!! Ellie A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |
