Pieces of Word Poet takes his tool to report, perhaps create joy, or journeyman’s pain. Falling to paper, wets blurring precious words dictated to page by heart. Struggles in written bond change the voices to line inner essence, escaped, exposed. Writes of time, time and time memories, hopes, dreams writes, writes, writes some more. Crafting with the words feelings, experiences, fantasy all mock simple word. If only, if only they say one could indeed write that perfect, illusive expression. The one, the real one that touches changes anothers heart validates those damned words. They seem the same, yes they do images in the mirror forever same, same, yet distinct, different. Life spent in apprenticeship prisoner to the words, locked away desperate...”Is anyone out there?” The voices jump on opportunity cackle with new found freedom clamor almost as if invited... Flood the hapless poet sitting to do battle once again voice like water, enemy to word. Heart sodden as word runs, streaks the voices have won this one maybe pain, maybe joy, maybe just words. It is a conflict, indeed. Very well expressed, Daniel. I think it is that conflict that keeps us striving. Without it we would be just penning words. I think the best poems are the ones that are felt deeply by the poet....those are the ones that must be felt by others, it can't be helped. So keep writing from your heart! |

Very good! It is a struggle at times to make the words fit the frame of the idea, but the effort always seems worthwhile! Even if only for one's satisfaction. However, part of being a poet is wanting to share what you have written with others, don't you think? Betty Lou Hebert |

I like the metaphore of the 'word carver' You can see him 'whitling' like a carpenter. An admirable profession.. and correlation to a writer. Well done. |
