No sound save soughs sift sanguinely
as moonbeams, impaled, weep bittersweet
upon motherly arms of sculpted saguaros
basking on raw silken sheets of night.

Zepherous promises woo whirlwinds
who in turn with tumbleweeds elope
upon this plain of broken beams
bleeding softly in saguaro embrace.

the big words in this make my brain hurt...but otherwise it seems groovy gravy okay to me!

This is beautiful. It flows like a quiet river - who would have thought nature would sound so beautiful? Well done!

I like big words, although I admit I am ignorant to their meaning. I love it though!!

We spend our whole lives trying to live, only to realize that we don’t know what life is truly about until it is too late.

The desert between Yuma and El Centro....
perhaps a parody of the human mind?

Well done, Alicat.
Much enjoyed the read.

You have all been truly wonderful in your replies. When I first wrote this, I got about 3 lines in...then whatever idle thought was powering it simply evaporated. After struggling with it for a few hours, I sent it to PdV to see if it was done or not, as I had no clear notion. What's here is what was sent, and truth to tell, I still don't know if it's 'done'.

LMAO @ River...

I to, love the alliterations....

and think it is finished...and nicely done.
