Lili Marlene

This weekend and this holiday season.
You're happy, for a reason.
You and he will spend time together.
Whilst I lay broken under the weather.

A friend I fell in love with, suddenly.
One whom in my dreams I embrace tenderly.
I'm confused, vulnerable, not sure how to go on.
I merely feel haggard and overdrawn.

Several nights deprived of sleep.
Overwhelmed by a loss felt so deep.
Love sometimes can bring me great pain.
'Twas you my Lili Marlene.

I wished that the New Year finds you in my arms.
Sadly, I realize that not for me are your charms.
The false hope I'd clung to for time too long.
Now reality is starting to get strong.

I'd best tell you how I feel.
Even if the shoulder is as cold as steel.
For I can't pretend any longer, and suffer pain.
For you, my Lili Marlene.

If I hope to get on with my life.
And distance myself from all my emotional strife.
Maybe, just maybe, there's hope for love.
I pray for it from God above.

Many a night I've broken down in my bed.
Trying to find time to rest my head.
Dreams take me from angst and pain.
They're of you, my Lili Marlene.

I'm gonna have to come clean now.
However, I'm not certain how.
Even if it pushes you away from my life.
They say I'm strong enough to survive.

Of happier times I have memories.
And I'll take special care of these.
Whether in your arms, or alone in the rain.
I'll be, I won't forget you my Lili Marlene.

(big hugggsssssss) She'll forever be lucky to have you as a special friend, dearest friend, you are that special kind of person that so many youn woken are looking for out there who can express his heart and open up his tears and feelings without fear!
