In the mystery of night
when the moon glowed round,
and big and bright,
when each star in the velvet sky
winked its little cheery eye,
a mouse scampered quick and sleek
through fallen shadows to take a peek
at the crumbs scattered on the floor
where children ate the day before.
He gathered quickly,
filled his jaws
scooping the morsels with tiny, sharp claws.
Outside the house in the midnight sky
the roof over life sped lazily by.
Morning arose and stayed the same size-
vast as the earth in tiny mouse eyes.

This was neat.  I liked the way your words showed the tiniest to the most vast.
Love,
Terri~

Beasley:  Nice contrast illustrated in this poem, plus the gentleness of a tiny mouse eating left-over crumbs. I really like it!

That little mouse held my interest.  It's all a matter of perspective.  Love, Joyce
