Phantoms Passing

I went back to the old, home place
And wandered there awhile.
There were so many cherished spots
And things that made me smile.

The wood gazebo, there I spied,
Half hidden in the trees.
I went and sat upon its steps
And listened to the breeze.

It sang to me of yesterdays
And picnics in the sun.
Of summer nights and sweet delights.
Of young lives, just begun.

Where are they now, those children who
All shared this spot with me
And do they ever travel back,
If just in memory?

I stayed until the evening threw
Long shadows on the grass
And all the stars in Heaven came,
To watch my phantoms pass!

Hello Betty Lou

I am sure many of us feel this way, I know I do, especially when I visit the home where I grew up.  I walk into my dad's shed and I feel his presence and the memories come flooding back.

Take care.......Sue

(smiles) God Bless You, sweet friend, this made me smile as it makes me smile to know of the many parents and grandparents who share the brilliant gifts of nature to their children and the memories and stories they tell are like friendly ghosts passing by! (kiss on cheek) I love this, sweet friend, yay, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Betty, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
