Goodbye My Love
Rose petals fall softly
Floating gently to land
Like the soft kisses
He placed on my cheeks
As he bid me goodbye

The sun will always rise
A heart full of promise
Like the yearning in me
For his blessed return

Clouds darken and swell
pregnant with raindrops
As my soul fills with love
That waits only for you

thank you all so very much for your words of encouragement. I am trying to grow as a poet ( as we all are ) and trying out new things this one became a close one to me. i am glad you all enjoyed it and that you took time to tell me so.

Sorry this one's tardy, but this poem was something I can relate too somewhat. I wait for someone special and this poem spoke volumes to me, despite its brevity. Excellent work.
