I've tried and I've tried,
but can't remember at all.
Why did I leave you?
I cannot recall.

I think of you now,
and I wonder inside,
Why was I too weak,
to hold on for the ride?

I know that I loved you,
of that there's no doubt.
I just don't think I knew,
how to make it come out.

Back then I blamed you,
for us being through.
But I was just too weak,
to carry us through

The only voice I could hear,
was of my foolish pride.
saying, "yes, once you loved her,
but now that has died."

And now sometime later,
I find it's not true.
My love in fact
took root and grew.

And now late at night,
when I think of my love,
I feel a great pressing weight
on my chest from above.

It presses and squeezes,
and won't let me sleep.
And night after night,
It demands that I weep.

So I pay for my crimes,
like a man in a cell.
With only a mouse,
his miseries to tell.

I know your not sure,
of just how you feel.
unsure if the love,
you have for me is real.

I'll wait for you love,
until small trees are tall.
Because loving someone more,
I cannot recall.

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Joseph, this is a beautifully heartfelt debut, sweet friend, love can truly be such a deep and bittersweet emotion but it is always worth trying for and it can make all small trees big and let her know how you feel and then the truth shall come out! Thank you all for your kind words. I wasn't sure if I should post this or not, because I'm really not sure of how it comes across. I guess it makes the point I had. I've never spontaneously written a poem before and I was shocked at how easily it fell onto my pad. Anyway, she loved it, so I thought someone else might as well. And thank you for the E-card Enchantress, that is a pretty cool feature.

Thank you very much, I'm not so sure about the talent part, but I appreciate you saying so. I'm just glad you enjoyed it. You have all helped me to deal with some pretty heavy things that have been going on in my life right now and I want you all to know how greatful I am for your support!!
