(AN: The song Invisible Sun by Sting and the Police inspired this one. Also Moulin Rogue played another role in inspiring this.) Invisible Sun Sitting beside you in class today. Your friendship truly brightens my day. It's like an invisible sun. Bringing light and warmth to everyone. Though the past few days were ones from hell. Of your boyfriend you did tell. If I told you how I truly feel. I fear you'll turn away, cold as steel. I fear you'll treat me like other girls have done. Called me a demon, a stalker, then turn and run. Till I met you I'd lost all faith in love. Then you I met, thanks to our God above. I approach kindly and gently, as not to scare. It's my way of showing I do care. It's simple little things that I treasure. Love returned to me, a denied pleasure. Still your friendship sustains me. Don't be scared, please don't flee. That's why I cannot say what's in my heart. For I fear it will drive us further apart. A friendship ruined is worse than hell. Much like solitary confinement in a prison cell. "...to love and be loved in return." A great joy, but when the hell's it my turn? I've never known that feeling. To be loved by one I find appealing. All I have ever experienced is rejection. And the subsequent and total dejection. To cultivate a friendship, slightly platonic. But if it turns sour, truly ironic. A man who is an inherent romantic. Is reduced to scrambling for table scraps, frantic. Your support helped me through my freshman year. Of being away from home, which I did fear. I really wish I could have won your heart. I'll survive, again, being emotionally pulled apart. |

if you start off as friends then if and when something happens between hjer and her man you will be there for her to talk to and be her shoulder to cry on.... just be there for her as a friend... she will realise what she has in you with time... keep up the writing... Mel |
