The Poetry Of Life

I’ll probably never see you
when the wind is blowing sweet
I probably walk right past you
everyday along the street

I’ll probably never meet you
on a starlit winter’s eve
Our passion rising gently
flowing softly in the breeze

I’ll probably never hold you
as we dance beneath the stars
Spinning in the moonlight
as we own the night as ours

I’ll probably never kiss you
as the world’s about to end
Our lips forever touching
as finality impends

I’ll probably never have you
as the one who holds my love
Giving unto me your loving
heart and all thereof

I’ll probably never leave you
even with my final breath
Our love is for eternity
enduring even death

I’ll probably always love you
even though we’ll never meet
The poetry of life sometimes
can be so bittersweet

Oh yes...so true, Richy...so true.
This is absolutely beautiful, my friend...
and yes...so bittersweet as well.

Richy:  This is wonderful!  I enjoyed every line.  Life can be very bittersweet at times, as you point out, but it holds much to be thankful for too!

Vicky ~ Thank you, you are always there with a kind word, and a warm hug.

Chris ~ I’m glad you enjoyed it. It’s always special to hear from you.

Betty Lou ~  Your absolutely right. Along with any regrets, comes so much to be thankful for. The sweet and the sour, the happy and the sad, and the bliss and the heartache. Life really does have it’s way of balancing things out doesn’t it? Thanks for your nice comments!

Pegasus ~ Hey Thanks and what a cool name! I’m looking forward to more of your work as well.

GypsyGirl ~ It’s nice to meet you. And thanks for taking the time. I’m glad you liked it.

Thanks Shara. Yeah, I know what you mean. Kind of like that awful medicine you had to take as a child. It was hard to swallow, but in the end, you were glad you took it.

Thanks Again!

Marge ~ Thank you so much for your kindness. And for the warm welcome.
This is quite the little honky-tonk you guys have set up here. It’s very cushy, and comfortable,
even if the suds are a little flat(!). But then again, so our my jokes, so it all comes out even in the end... lol

Kacy ~ Did I ever tell you the time I fell in a vat of gum, and my boss chewed me out... (!)
Don’t ask me why I told you that, I don’t even know...lol

Oh, I took your advice and tried dreaming about sweet chocolate, but dreamt about you instead...

Nancy ~ Thanks Nancy, Big Huuugs back to you!

Noah ~ Thank You Noah, but if anyone has a golden heart, it is you. A heart who’s radiant warmth, is felt by anybody fortunate enough to know you!

Joyce ~ Thank you Joyce. And hey, you know, any thing’s possible.

Thanks for stopping by everyone!

Thank you so much Connie! “What’s it called again.” Well, let me see... besides hogwash, bilge, and hooey... lol

To the best of knowledge I think that most of my poems would fall under a rhythm and rhyme format called a ballad stanza.

Which means that it has alternating verses of Iambic Tetrameter and Iambic Trimeter rhythm, and has a rhyming pattern (a b c b). Of course I am no expert and could be way off. There are many people in this group who could better decipher what type of format it is written in, like Nan. All I know, is that the style that I write poetry in, is what works best for me. At least for now. I hope I didn’t confuse you too much. If I didn’t, then help explain it back to me. Because now I’m confused...lol

Thanks again Connie!

Richy
Thanks for explaining it to me, although I think I will stick to just reading and enjoying poems- everytime I try to understand structures I get so muddled! (is there a book out there called poetry for dummies?) lol.
Once again, thanks richy, and great poem.

Hi Connie,

“Is there a book out called, poetry for dummies?”

Yeah, there is, but I found it much too hard to understand. I’ve just started “Poetry For Imbeciles” it’s not too bad, it has a lot of pictures and such... is fun... lol

If your really interested in learning more about writing poetry, and having some fun too, then go into the “Poetry Challenge Forum, located in the Discussion section. (In the very top, dark blue buttons at the top left of this page. Or the Poetry Workshop, under the Main Forums section (also located at the top left side of this page).

Thanks again for your nice comments Connie!

Take Care

June, what a nice thing to say! I really appreciate that!
Big Hugs Back At You!

Hello Richy

This was an exceptional piece of writing and I loved each and every word.  I am so glad I came here and found this masterpiece.
