Girlfriend, you've got some weird looking critters in your neck of the world! This one is really creepy, crawly, ugly! Hugs and Grins, Marti Nature always tends to act in the simplest way. |

Well, Marge...I kinda liked this guy, so I had to go look him up. He's a Saddleback Caterpillar Moth. Here's some more info on him, if you're interested. http://www.floridanature.org/species.asp?species=Acharia_stimulea Thanks for sharing him. Just found this too...kind of confirms that it's a good thing that you decided not to try and make friends with this guy... http://ohioline.osu.edu/hyg-fact/2000/2130.html "Deep inside this armor, the warrior is a child." ~Twila Paris [This message has been edited by vlraynes (09-04-2003 05:05 PM).] |

Dear Marge: I read the information Vicky sent you and it appears this caterpillar is not only strange but not too friendly either! Enjoyed the picture, poem and information. I have never seen one around here! Love Betty Lou Betty Lou Hebert |

Different indeed. Maybe he only attacks palm trees which we don't have in Pacific N. W. Love, Joyce [This message has been edited by Joyce Johnson (09-05-2003 05:19 PM).] |

Don't know where my reply to this went ... but thanks Vicky for the research~ Thanks everyone~ He's a critter that fortunately isn't in abundance here ... as it's the first one I've ever seen~ *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*When the heart grieves over what it has lost, |
