A Day to Dream

The morning showed a mist that clung
To every tree and also hung
In forest aisles, like draperies,
That swayed and floated on each breeze.

By noon, it all had burned away
And morning skies, so dim and gray,
Had turned to blue, with just a few
Small, puffy clouds, that drifted through.

The afternoon was warm and sweet.
The dry leaves rustled as my feet
Pursued the path beside the stream.
A day to linger and to dream.

The evening drew down to a close
And clouds of amber, orange and rose,
Be-decked the west, outdid the sun.
Heaped praises on the day just done!

Then as the darkness of the night
Both captured and then slew the light,
The dome of Heaven graciously
Flung silver stars, for all to see!

The imagery and feeling in this one really made me feel like I was seeing all of this in a cycle of my reading...I'm putting this in my Private Library!
