Saturday Light

Watching the coloured lights
flashing through spectrums,
I sit in a dark corner
With a stranger,
feeling the walls.

The spotlight has gone
no longer illuminating my soul.
In one quick movement
I realise
I no longer seek the spotlight.

The music is strong,
but I cannot hear.
In my head
I have my own music,
repeating the same song.

The stranger turns to me,
and smiles through cigarette rainbows.

In a crowd of aliens
I feel normal.

I want to cry,
but my eyes are busy with the lights.

Thanks shararose for your kind words... I wasn't too sure about this poem- I was very confused when I wrote it and that was what I was trying to get across!
