Brutal Forest

In this village surrounded by this forest,
Men and Women try evading their fate-
The fate of forever in this loop
Of daily life in growing up- becoming adults.

In this village surrounded by this forest,
Men and Women try hiding their scars-
The scars of abandon and loneliness,
The desire to be approved of- finding peace.

In this village surrounded by this forest,
Men and Women try leaving behind their past-
The past that hold them back,
The wrong attitudes formed to prevent them- becoming success.

Oh the forest is brutal,
Hiding all the secret traps.
Oh the forest is brutal.
It won't leak a shadow out
Till the sunset comes,
When all Men and Women in their
Eternal sleeping bed.

this poem reminds me of the old song "whispering grass". Yes I am sure that the trees know more than they are letting on...
