Yo, she’s the new love of my life I woulda never guessed it at the start I was coming off a bad break, a heart break Fallin’ and wallowin’ In my pity like a hobo What kills me though Is that I tried ta talk to this chic before But she dropped me and dissed me Left me hurting in the streets Bruised me up bad Yo, she coulda cared less then Like a republican about the ghetto But one day One day I’ll never forget My boy told me he had a friend for me to meet And there she was Just grinnin’ like a state trooper That evil I got you now grin But I smiled back Told her let’s get down to business And we did Now when I walk the streets with her I stand out like a white guy at the Zulu Krewe picnic Drinking Dixie and rocking to reggae beats But hey, me and her are inseparable Even though she still drops me She still bruises me She puts my body through as much as she can And as much as I can take But hey, what can I say, I love ta skate "freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose..." -janis joplin |

Interesting poem, I liked the dialect, and the way you ended it with "I love to skate". I take it to mean if you skate, you will fall down sometime..and if you love..sometimes you will get hurt..but then you just get up and love again. |

Rich, I enjoyed the poem. I did not look for those hip hop songs yet, I am in a 70's post punk mood at the moment so I don't think I would like them maybe later. Anyway ranting. I loved the line "Yo, she coulda cared less then Like a republican about the ghetto" enjoyed the read. |
