Protector
Save me from the piercing cold rain
The bitter wind
The fierce chill

Protect me
From the bare light of the sun
Whose starkness burns both eyes and skin
And bathe me instead
In colour, beauty
A fabulous picture
Not a desolate white blindness

Dim the air enough to close my eyes
To sleep
To dream
To live
“For life is a dream,
‘tis waking that kills us”

And please, please never shatter
Don’t break my sleep
Into a thousand shattered shards
And leave me bare
In the cruel unforgiving light

Everybody hurts, take comfort in your friends, cos everybody hurts sometimes

I also liked that you called your Higher Power "Protector", and didn't name him .. their are many different beliefs out there
