She had pushed away the storms
   that once had covered me
Her manner lingers like a secret smile
Although she's far away,
   can't think of any day
      that she's not here...
just to brush away the moments
when the days would bring me down
Even when she's not around,
   she's still around

She once told me
life was more than dreams or wishes
But hold on,
you never know, they might come true
Although now,some years have gone
when she packed and then moved on
I remember all the moments
and the way her voice would sound
Even when she's not around,
   she's still around

I thought at first you were writing a mother's day poem but I guess not.  It's still nice.  Joyce

Thank you for your kind replies.

Joyce,I understand your assumption. The truth is that my sister was much more of a positive influence through the years. She was always supportive, never judgemental, and was truly a friend to my heart no matter what stupid decisions I've made nor what befell me.She showed me what honesty and Love meant.Yes,I loved my mother too...I just wish she would have been more able to "Be there" for me.

Peace,Geoffrey

The good ones,
the ones that love you
no matter what...
yes,

I love this line too Geoffrey...What a beautiful tribute to your sister. m'friend.

Beauty of the world which is soon to perish has two edges, one of laughter and one of anguish, cutting the heart asunder.
