AMARILLO Verse 1: How I love your faded skies Vapoured sighs, the clouds...descend 'til the evening end Soon the stars stir the night I think I might begin... to dream of your light once again... Chorus: Amarillo... Shine on my eyes soft and low Should all the wind cease to blow, I'll be there She's a willow, swayin' 'til I'm on my pillow When I'm home, I know you'll be there... Verse 2: What will you bring to me? Symphony, the dawn Oh,how could the evening have gone? Till shadows are long I belong to you How I'm wishin' this dream's never through... Chorus: Amarillo... Shine on my eyes soft and low Should all the wind cease to blow, I'll be there She's a willow, swayin' 'til I'm on my pillow When I'm home, I know you'll be there... Bridge: When I'm home to you, I'll sleep softly there in your skies Quiet now, quiet now, the stars are rollin' on by... Chorus: Amarillo... Shine on my eyes soft and low Should all the wind cease to blow, I'll be there She's a willow, swayin' 'til I'm on my pillow When I'm home, I know you'll be there... Thank you so much,June! This is a song that I wrote after a trip to see my sis down in Texas (Dallas, that is).Didn't get anywhere close to Amarillo, but it is much more lyrical,music-wise,than Dallas,if you catch my drift Currently,I'm arranging this and have a fellow down in Nashville (who handles Alan Jackson, among others)waiting for it. Wish me luck! Peace,Geoffrey |

Geoffrey; I can hear the music! The words are lyrical of themselves. Is there a CD of your music that I can purchase? I also want to thank you for your caring e-mail. Hugs, Ellie A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |
