Sweet Tradition Our daughter, every Mother's Day, Brings bedding plants, in great array And comes to spend the daylight hours, Visiting and planting flowers. She picks out annuals, that to me, Are like old friends, I'm glad to see! Each cheery blossom takes its spot Within a waiting garden plot! The window boxes, at the sill, We fill with blooms and let vines spill Beyond the edge, to trail below, Their leafy greenery to show. By dinnertime, when we are through, We stroll around, take in the view. I think about the months ahead And how I will enjoy each bed. From May until the fall frosts start, Her gift of love, will warm my heart! This sweet tradition also brings, The treasured thoughts, of other springs! This is lovely. I wonder how many moms and daughters will be doing the same. Love, Joyce |
