A Discussion with my Muse "Why are you asking me to write?" I'm neither decadent nor mad." My muse is quiet, gazing back With eyes extremely sad. "They have sent sweet rhyme and rhythm Right down the drain, you know it's true." "If romanticism is to live It's up to folks like you." "They will all laugh and call my verse A simpleton's tear-jerking slop. I'm tired of being ridiculed. It's better I just stop." My muse has nothing more to say. I hear a piercing, silent scream.
